ARCH3611F12TrungNguyen: Section + elevation and perspective

Hi Trung,

I really like how your sections are progressing, there are more double height spaces and drafting articulation to get rid of the pancake section effect.  Is the abstract window pattern flush with the windows or is it a by-passing skin with vertical or horizontal mullions behind?  I think if you treat it as a by-passing skin and add more lines to the elevations it would add even more depth.  Look at monk's "cells" in Le Corbusier's La Tourette.  I lived there for a week, it was magical, there is still a lot you can learn from this building for your project.

Film & Architecture

Hello all,

I have created this blog to explore the relationships between film and architecture. This is not a new concept, but the progressiveness of both fields and their ability to thrive off of new technology fascinates me. I live and work in Los Angeles as an architect and create short films when time allows. I want to combine these fields into a concept of "filmic architecture" that would become a phenomenologically democratic process for all.
